I have started this blog to test the effectiveness of BHT on HSV-1 / cold sores and to track my progress while using it. This is the second blog that has been started on the use of BHT for the treatment of HSV-1/cold sores. Lucky Phoswa's blog,
http://bht-coldsores.blogspot.com/ , was the first blog created about the use of BHT, and was the motivational factor behind the creation of this blog. This blog was started to support claims that have been made about the use of BHT.
My name is Leo, and I am in my early 20's. I contracted HSV-1 during spring break in March of 2008 . I returned home from break with a ridiculous outbreak from the bottom of my nose to the top of my upper lip that lasted 4 weeks. I got a blood test done, and sure enough, I had contracted HSV-1.
I have done a lot of research within the last year of HSV-1 and the use of BHT. Please do your own research in order to educate yourself on BHT. Do not just start using it without doing the proper research! As with everything, there are risks involved by using BHT.
Dosage of BHT and other supplementsDuring the
FIRST WEEK of "treatment"
, I will begin by taking 250mg of BHT dissolved in a tablespoon of coconut oil, after my first meal, combined with 2,000mg's - 6,000mg's of Ester-C (Vitamin C) spread out during the day. I will also be taking a multi-vitamin and Probiotics.
I will remain on the
"First Week" regime for two months, and if it proves to be effective, I will remain on the
"First Week" regime . If it is not effective, I will increase the BHT dosage to either 500mg or 750mg. I will make sure to update this blog if I change my dosage.
In my opinion, in order for BHT to "work" effectively, your immune system must be in top-notch shape.
